Storm Damage Roof Repair

The wind died down and now there are shingles in the yard, or a limb on the roof. We get it covered fast, document the damage for your insurer, and put the roof back together.

First, Stop the Water

Southern New Hampshire gets a bit of everything: nor'easters that load roofs with wet snow, ice storms, summer thunderstorms with the occasional burst of hail, and wind strong enough to bring down a pine. Once a roof is opened up, rain and meltwater start getting in right away. Every hour it stays open means more wet insulation and more ceiling to replace.

So the first thing Roof Pros Plus does is get the opening covered. We tarp the damaged area to keep water out, then go over the whole roof to find out how far the damage really goes. You get photos and a written scope of work, which is a plain list of what needs repairing, ready to hand to your insurance company.

Storm Damage We Fix

Wind Damage

Shingles creased, lifted or blown off entirely, flashing (the metal that seals roof joints) peeled back, and underlayment left showing.

Hail Damage

Bruised or cracked shingles, dented metal, and patches where the protective granules have been knocked off. Often hard to spot from the ground.

Fallen Trees & Limbs

Punctured decking and broken rafters. We make the roof weathertight first, then rebuild the damaged section.

Ice Storm Damage

Gutters pulled loose by the weight of ice, damaged eaves, and the ice dams that tend to follow.

Heavy Snow Load

Wet snow is heavy. Watch for a sagging roofline, new cracks in ceilings, or doors that suddenly stick.

Water Intrusion

An active leak from any of the above. We track it back to where the water is getting in and close it up.

Help With the Insurance Side

An insurance claim is the last thing you want to figure out with a tarp on your roof. We can't file or negotiate it for you, but we can make it easier: thorough photos, a written scope of the repair, and, if you'd like, someone from our team at the house when the adjuster visits to point out what we found.

Report Storm Damage

Will my homeowner's insurance pay for storm damage to the roof?

Many homeowner's policies cover sudden damage from wind, hail and fallen trees, but coverage and deductibles vary, so read your policy or call your agent. What we can do is give you clear evidence: dated photos and a written description of the damage and the repair it needs.

How soon can you get here after a storm?

Fast. Call (603) 552-5072 as soon as it is safe, and we'll get a crew out to tarp and secure the roof as quickly as we can. After a big regional storm we go first to the homes that have water coming in.
